On Monday, October 21, 2024, David Lewis Cabiness, 68, of Slaughter Dr., Axton, VA transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life at his residence. He was born in Eden, NC on September 10, 1956, to the late George W. Hairston and Tillie Marie Cabiness Wilson. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his sister, Thelma L. Little and his nephew Eric Adams.
David was a graduate of Laurel Park High School, and he retired from Fuller Tire Company after many years of dedicated service.
Those left to cherish his memory include a special daughter, Shamikka Reid of Axton, VA; one aunt, Viola Carter of Martinsville, VA; close friend, Jessie Hairston; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 3:30 p.m. at the Hairston Family Cemetery, 126 Norman LN., Axton, VA with Pastor Barbara Hairston, Eulogist.
A public viewing will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024, at Hairston Funeral Home, 301 Fayette St., Martinsville, VA between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Live streaming will be available at Hairston Funeral Home live via Facebook.
