On Tuesday, March 17, 2026, Deacon Harold Lee Campbell, Sr. 91, of Carver Rd., Martinsville peacefully transitioned from this life at SOVAH Health Martinsville. He was born in Pageton, WV on November 12, 1934, to the late Andrew Campbell and Willie May Dunn Campbell.
In addition to his parents, Deacon Campbell was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Elizabeth Wade Campbell; two sons, Harold Lee Campbell, Jr. and Charles E. Campbell; two daughters, Sylvonya βVonnieβ Wade-Giles and Donelia Campbell; and his siblings, Howard Campbell, Andrew Campbell, Viola Campbell Anthony, James Campbell, Estelle Hairston and Leonard Campbell.
Deacon Campbell was a member of St. Paul High Street Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Children's choir assistant and Church Van Driver. He retired from Pillowtex, formally Fieldcrest Mills, after many years of service. In addition, Deacon Campbell was a United States Army Veteran.
He loved to travel, spend time with family, and share his sense of humor. Deacon Campbell was a fan of the Washington Commanders NFL Team and NCAA UVA Cavaliers Basketball Team.
Those left to cherish his memory includes three grandsons, Bradshaw Campbell of Fort Irwin, CA, Derek Segreti of Kannapolis, NC and Matthew Corbett of Lovettsville, VA; one granddaughter, Dorian A. Campbell of Kannapolis, NC; Care giver/cousin, Chanda Prillaman of Danville, VA; care giver, Marilyn Williamson of Martinsville, VA; special granddaughter, Erica Redd of Richmond, VA; special family friend, Janet Brightwell of Richmond, VA; best friend, Gene βSqueakyβ Jones; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at noon, at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home with words of inspiration and remembrance given by Chanda Foster Prillaman. Interment will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens, 869 Parkway Dr., Martinsville, VA.
A public viewing will be held on Monday, March 23, 2026, at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Live streaming of the funeral service will be available at Hairston Funeral Home live via Facebook.

I am saddened to hear my fondly thought of cousin (through his wife) has passed. I have many happy memories of his visits to Lorain, Ohio. It was nothing but good times and an abundance of laughter. You will be missed but never forgotten.

I was saddened when I learned of the passing of my friend Bro. Campbell. He eat Breakfast most mornings at McDonald's on Greensboro Rd.. Always a nice smile and pleasant words. He always conducted himself as a Christian and a Gentleman. The world needs more men like Bro. Harold Campbell.
