On Tuesday, August 5, 2025, our beloved Deacon Henry Brown Ingram 85, of Carver Ct., Martinsville transitioned peacefully from this earthly life. He was born in Martinsville, VA on August 14, 1939, the son of the late William Henry Ingram and Roxie Thomas Ingram.
In addition to his parents, Henry was preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara Howard Ingram; one daughter, Marsha Kaye Ingram; one son; Gregory A. Ingram; one brother, Bishop Willie Doug Ingram, and three sisters, Yvonne Ingram, Gwendolyn Ingram Worsham and Deborah Ingram.
He was a member of Calvery United Church of Jesus Christ where he served as a Deacon. He was retired from E.I. Dupont after thirty years of service. Henry was a graduate of Albert Harris High School class of 1957.
Those left to cherish his memories include one son, Vincent F. Ingram (Melissa) of Fords, NJ; daughter-in-law, Karen Ingram of Bristow, VA; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Donald L. “Butch” Ingram (Arlene) of Martinsville, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A visitation service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. with the funeral service at 11 a.m. at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home, 301 Fayette St., Martinsville with Bishop Denzell Kellam, Eulogist. Interment will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens, 869 Parkway Dr., Martinsville, VA.
A public viewing will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Other times, the family will receive friends at the residence, 1306 Carver Ct., Martinsville. Live streaming of the funeral service will be available at Hairston Funeral Home live via Facebook.
