Our beloved Donna Turner Brooks 68, of Forest St., Martinsville transitioned peacefully on July 7, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loving and devoted family. She was born on February 1, 1957, in Martinsville, VA to the late Lewis Turner, Sr. and Susan Draper Turner.
In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by one sister, Susan “Cotton Tail” Turner Staples.
Donna was a member of Fayette Street Christian Church (DOC). She was a graduate of Martinsville High School class of 1975. She later enrolled at National Business College where she obtained an associate degree in Early Childhood Education. Donna was employed by Happy Feet Day Care Center until her health declined.
Donna leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and resilience through her two daughters, Rachel Turner and Christiane Turner both of Martinsville, VA; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four sisters, Teresa L. Turner, Tracey Turner Jones, Leslie I. Turner and Pamela A. Turner all of Martinsville, VA; one brother, Lewis Turner, Jr. of Martinsville, VA; six grandchildren, Akira Price, Javontae' Manns, Antonio Price, Jayden Manns, Tristan Price, and Dalyce Price; one great grandchild, Ni'Yor R. Manns; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A visitation service will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. with the funeral service at 12 noon at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home with Pastor Calvin Curry, Eulogist. Interment will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens, 869 Parkway Dr., Martinsville, VA.
A public viewing will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Hairston Funeral Home, 301 Fayette St., Martinsville, VA between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Other times the family will receive friends at the residence, 614 Forest St., Martinsville on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, and Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Other times the family will receives friends at the Funeral Home. Live streaming of the Funeral service will be available at Hairston Funeral Home via Facebook.

Words are never the same as being there. Unfortunately I am not able to be there but may these words comfort all my family.
