Obituary For Dora Eulene Cobbs
On Thursday, July 31, 2025, our beloved Dora Eulene Cobbs 92, of Sellers St., Martinsville peacefully transitioned from this earthly life to eternal rest at her residence. She was born in Franklin County, Virginia on July 12, 1933, the daughter of the late Dan Cobbs and Mary Jane Brown Cobbs.
In addition to her parents, Dora was preceded in death by one daughter, Eulene Hairston; three sisters, Barbara Kidd, Lola Toney and Virginia McKenzie, and four brothers, Andrew Cobbs, Jewel Cobbs, Earlie Cobbs and Benjamin Cobbs.
Dora was a member of True Vine Baptist Church, Penhook, VA. She was retired from IMC Mining Corporation and as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She was a graduate of Franklin County High School.
Dora leaves to cherish her memories a legacy of love, faith and resilience through her two daughters, Linda Stone (Richard Whiteside) of Collinsville, VA and Eleanor Crawford of Dallas, TX; five sons, Donnie Parker (Jane) of Bassett, VA, James Crawford of Martinsville, VA, Rommel Crawford (Glovery) of Collinsville, VA, Tracy Crawford (Ergem) of Richardson, TX and Prince Crawford of Barton, FL; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; two sisters, Helen Smith of Roanoke, VA and Lois Yates of Martinsville, VA; seven brothers, Wiley Cobbs and Robert Cobbs both of Roanoke, VA, Thomas Cobbs, Carl Cobbs, George Cobbs and Hildred Cobbs all of Franklin County, VA and Joseph Cobbs of Martinsville, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A visitation service will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. with the funeral service at 12 noon at True Vine Baptist Church, 4025 True Vine Rd., Rocky Mount, VA with Pastor James Perkins, Eulogist. Interment will follow at True Vine Baptist Church Cemetery.
A public viewing will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025, at Hairston Funeral Home, 301 Fayette St., Martinsville, VA between the hours of 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. Live streaming of the funeral service will be available at Hairston Funeral Home live via Facebook.

I'm so heartbreaking 💔 right now as my dear friend Dora passed away. We worked together at the then Beverly Health Care and she was one of the kindest and caring CNA that I worked with. So to her family I send my Condolences 💐 and Prayers as u go through the passing of your dear Dora.
