Obituary For Edith V. Smith

On Tuesday, October 10, 2023, Edith Vanessa Smith 71, of Richfield, Minnesota transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life at her residence. She was born in Chester, PA on July 31, 1952, the daughter of the late Jesse Lee Koger, and the late Lucille Penn Frisby.

Edith retired from the Family Dollar Store as an Assistant Manager in Wilmington, Delaware after many years of service. Later, she relocated to Minneapolis, MN where she became a member of Shield Temple Church.

Those left to cherish her memory include three daughters, Jessica Davis of Decatur, GA, Erica Dickerson of Minneapolis, MN, and Lindsay Talbert (Ray) of Suwanee, GA; one son, Nathaniel Smith (Veronica) of Killeen, TX; sixteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives; and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at 4 p.m. at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home, 301 Fayette St., Martinsville, VA. The burial will follow at the Penn Family Cemetery, Chestnut Knob. A public viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 4 p.m.
