It is with sad hearts that the family of Elder Paul Penn, Sr. announces his recent passing on Monday, October 30, 2023 while residing at the Virginia Veterans Care Center in Roanoke, VA. Elder Penn’s life was blessed with love, friendships, adventure, meaningful work, church responsibilities, gardening, a long/fulfilling marriage, and a wonderful family life full of activities, commitments, and blessings from God.
He was born in Martinsville, VA, was a product of Piedmont Christian Institute (PCI) and the Martinsville public school system, Elder Penn also served honorably in WWII, met and married his love/sweetheart–Lillie Eloise Pace after his military discharge. He also supported several Veterans’ organization and was blessed to have lifelong employment with the local Dupont Nylon Manufacturing Plant.
A visitation service will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 3 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 3:30 p.m. at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home, 301 Fayette St., Martinsville, VA. The burial will follow at Roselawn Burial Park,103 Clearview Dr., Martinsville, VA.

It was always a pleasure checking on Uncle Paul with a phone call, he was always upbeat, joyful, and sharp. Was sadden to hear of his passing due to complications of covid, but the joy in my heart knowing that he is a child of GOD! Stay strong Sandra and Winona & family and cherish the good memories!
