Eulena C. Hairston " Mama Thin", 61, of Pony Place, Martinsville, Va., passed away on Friday, August 23, 2019 at Lewis Gale Hospital, Salem, VA. She was born December 29, 1957 in Martinsville, VA, to Dora Crawford and the late James Crawford.
Eulena leaves to cherish her memory; her husband of the home, Frank Lydell Hairston; her mother, Dora Cobbs, her son, Dorian Raheem Crawford, and her daughter, Arsha Crawford all of Martinsville, VA; five brothers, Donnie (Jane) Parker of Bassett, VA; James Crawford of Lewisville, TX; Romell (Gloria) of Collinsville, VA; Tracy Crawford of Richardson, TX; and Prince Crawford of Barton, FL; two sisters, Linda (Richard) Whiteside of Roanoke, VA; and Ellenore M. Crawford of Florida; one granddaughter, Dre'Ajah Hodge of Martinsville, VA; and aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
She was a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church. Eulene graduated from Martinsville High School , Class of 1976 and attended Shaw University. She had worked for Springs and was a CNA for many years.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Truevine Missionary Baptist Church, Rocky Mt., VA with Elder James Perkins, Officiating. The family will receive friends at the home, 109 Pony Place, Martinsville, VA. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Garden, Martinsville, VA.
