Obituary For Gloria J. Hightower
On Sunday, March 31, 2024, Gloria J. Hightower, 75, of Stoney Mountain Rd.., Martinsville, VA transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life at her residence. She was born in Martinsville, VA on January 23, 1949, to the late David L. Martin and Lucille Carter Martin.
In addition to her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by one sister, Josephine Butler, and five brothers, David Martin, Jerome Martin, MacArthur Martin, Richard Martin, and Thomas Martin.
Before becoming disabled, Gloria was an Instructor for the Childrens Corner at Moses Cone Hospital, Greensboro, NC. She was a member of Reach Out Apostolic Church.
Gloria leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Charlie Hightower of the home; two sons, Thaddeus Williams of Collinsville, VA, and Delano Williams of Martinsville, VA; one daughter, Tarketa Williams of Washington, DC; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A visitation service will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 noon at Reach Out Apostolic Church,225 Brenda Dr., Axton, VA with Bishop Lorenzo Hall, Eulogist. The burial will follow at Carver A public viewing will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Hairston Funeral Home, 301 Fayette St., Martinsville between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Memorial Gardens, 869 Parkway Dr., Martinsville, VA. Other times, the family will be receiving friends at the home, 810 Stoney Mountain Rd., Martinsville.

I remember all of us living on what they call.. The WestEnd...... I thought she was a model she was soooo beautiful. I use to love watching her come out their home... I would say... there she is... isn't she beautiful and I would tell her and she just smiled and said Thank You and you are beautiful toooo... I was much younger....... God never makes a mistake.... He knew it was your time and he had to call your name. Now you can rest from your labor on earth 🌍 and rest eternally.
