On Wednesday, January 10, 2024, James D. Hall, Jr. 53, of Parkway Dr., Martinsville, Va transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life at his residence. Born in Martinsville, VA on April 25, 1970, to the late James D. Hall, Sr., and Frances Walker Thomas. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by three sisters, Toya “Wewe” Thomas, and Melissa “Missy” Hairston; maternal grandparents, Marshal and Dorothy Walker, Sr.; special aunt, Jacqueline “Jackie” Devin; special uncle, Marshal Walker, Jr.
James was employed by Crown Manufacturing as a forklift operator and was a United States Marine Corp veteran. He graduated from Martinsville High School class of 1988.
James leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Tamara M. Hall of the home; three daughters, Brittany K. Hughes, Keona S. Ingram both of Martinsville, VA, and Indya Moore of Raleigh, N.C.; one son, Christopher D. Hughes of Martinsville, VA; four stepsons, Cameron Turner, Larry Perkins, Derrick M. Waller, and Antonio Beal all of Martinsville, VA; one stepdaughter, Daisha Beal; four grandchildren; two sisters, Angela Carter, Sabrina Carter, both of Upper Marlboro, MD; one brother, Mario Hall of Upper Marlboro, MD; stepmother, Lourdes Hall; and a host of other relatives, and friends.
A visitation service will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home with Elder Alan Preston, Eulogist. The burial will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens, 869 Parkway Dr., Martinsville, VA. A public viewing will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024, at Hairston Funeral Home, 301 Fayette St., Martinsville, VA between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Other times, the family will be receiving friends at the home, 75 Parkway Dr., Martinsville, VA.
