Obituary For Jesse G. Kidd
On Monday, June 2, 2025, Jesse G. Kidd 74, of Martinsville, VA peacefully transitioned surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 24, 1951, in Henry County, VA to the late Alfrice Kidd and Ida Holland Kidd.
In addition to his parents, Jesse was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley White and Mary Via, and five brothers, Junior Randolph Kidd, Ervin Kidd, Sr., James Kidd, Joseph Kidd and Bobby Kidd.
Jesse retired as a long-distance truck driver. He was a member of Evening Light Cathedral, Danville, VA under the pastorate of his brother, Bishop Fred Kidd. He was a past member of Mt. Olivet Holiness Church, and he attended New Beginnings Holiness Church.
Jesse leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Lisa Preston Kidd of the home; two sons, Jesse Kidd, Jr. of Martinsville, VA and Jordan Kidd of Goldsboro, NC; two daughters, Angela Hyman (Troy) of White Plains, NY and Angela Fleming (Curtis) of Roanoke, VA; thirteen grandchildren; two brothers, Bishop Fred Kidd (Indiana) of Danville, VA and Anthony Kidd (Patricia) of Martinsville, VA; four sisters, Georgia Hairston, Dorothy Waller, Vickie Reid (Carlton) and Iris Taylor all of Martinsville, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A visitation service will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. with the funeral service at 11 a.m. at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home, Martinsville, VA with Bishop Fred Kidd, Eulogist. Interment will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens, 869 Parkway Dr., Martinsville.
A public viewing will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025, at Hairston Funeral Home, 301 Fayette St., Martinsville between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Other times, the family will receive friends at the home, 194 Parkway Dr., Martinsville. Live streaming of the funeral service will be available at Hairston Funeral Home live via Facebook.
