On Thursday, April 30, 2026, our beloved son, brother and friend, Kenneth Fitzgerald Hairston, 61, of 824 Hundley St., Martinsville peacefully transitioned from this life at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke, VA. He was born in Martinsville, VA on November 20, 1964, to the late Joseph O. Hairston and Mary Hairston Campbell.
In addition to his father, Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Mitchell Hairston; his stepfather, Clarence Campbell, his paternal grandparents, Joe Henry & Maggie P. Hairston, and his maternal grandparents, Ned & Christine Hairston.
Kenneth was a member of Hope In Christ Apostolic Church, Martinsville, VA. He attended Patrick County High School.
Kenneth leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Mary Campbell; three sisters, Fern A. Harris, Natalie E. Wilson and her husband, Robert, and Tara C. Hairston and her husband, Donald; two brothers, Jacob K. Hairston (his twin) and Alex Hairston; special friend/sister, Sandra Hairston RN; fur baby, Max Hairston all of Martinsville, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
A visitation service will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. with the funeral service at 12 noon at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home, 301 Fayette St., Martinsville with Pastor Henry Hairston, Eulogist. Interment will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens, 869 Parkway Dr., Martinsville.
A public viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Other times, the family will receive friends at the home of his sister and brother-in-law, Natalie & Robert Wilson, 314 Wren Ct., Martinsville between the hours of 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. daily. Live streaming of the funeral service will be available at Hairston Funeral Home live via Facebook.

My heart goes out to the hairston family. Kenny was an amazing person and friend. I was blessed to of have known him . We'll all miss him very much.
