Kenneth Wayne Eggleston, 72, of Washington, DC, departed this life on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at Deanwood Rehab and Wellness Center, Washington, DC. He was born October 24, 1947, the son of the late Walter Johnson and the late Gladys E. Law. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Tonia E. Graham; step father, B.T. Law; one grandson, Christopher Lewis Eggleston; one granddaughter, Keanu Pitt; two brothers, Daryl Law and Leon Hodge.
He retired from Amoco Service Station as a Mechanic after many years of service. Kenneth was a member of Bibleway Temple of Washington, DC.
Kenneth leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife, Carrie F. Eggleston; two daughters, Carol Simmons (Benn) of Waldorf, MD, and Kimberly E. Pitt (Terrence) of Suitland, MD; two grandsons, Jordon Simmons of Waldorf, MD and Kasey Pitt of Suitland, MD; one granddaughter, Kopeland Pitt of Suitland, MD; six step grandchildren, Shayla, Andre, Kiana, Moneshia, Kalivah and Kamari; four brothers, Harold Hodge (Veronica) of Fieldale, VA, Dennis Hodge (Nancy), Ted Law and Willie Johnson all of Martinsville, VA; three sisters, Eva, Jane and Geraldine all of North Carolina; and a host of sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws,nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home, with Pastor Drucilla Hairston, eulogist. Visitation will be held 11 a.m. until time for the service. Other times, the family will receive friends at the residents of his brother, Harold Hodge, 785 Valley Dr., Fieldale, VA. Burial will be at Carver Memorial Gardens, Martinsville, VA.
