Lewis Randolph "Peanut" Giles, 77, of Axton, VA, departed this life peacefully on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Stanleytown Rehab Center. He was born on December 18, 1942 in Henry County, VA, to the late Elizabeth C. Giles and the late Booker T. Giles. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his great grandson, Travis Martin; four brothers, Sylvester, Charles E., Lee Andrew and James Giles.
He was a member of the Only Way Church of Christ and graduated from George Washington Carver High School. He retired from Tultex and later went to work for Hooker Furniture Co. and retired there also. He loved looking at his western movies.
Lewis leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of the home, Wanda Giles; two daughters, Hollie Coles (John) and Mia Giles Hairston (Garry); two sons, Phillip R. Giles and Derek Giles; seven grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; four brothers, Sherman Giles (Mary), Alonzo Giles (Hazel), Floyd Giles all of Axton, VA; Kenny Meadows (Jessie) of Danville, VA; and one sister, Rita Jamison of Axton, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 26, 2020 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul Holiness Church, Martin Lane, Axton, VA. with Minister Arnold Bullock , Eulogist and Pastor Barry Dillard, Officiating. The family will receive friends one half hour prior to the service at the church and all other times at the home, 97 Norman Lane, Axton, VA. The interment will follow in the Giles Family Cemetery, Norman Lane, Axton, VA.
