Lillian M. "Botchie" Kirby 88, of Smith St., Martinsville, VA transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at her residence. Born September 15, 1933, in Martinsville, VA, she was the daughter of Obie Gravely and Bertha Gravely who preceded her in death.
In addition to her parents, Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Kirby; one daughter, Sandra Kirby; one son, Calvin Gravely; and her brothers and sisters.
Lillian was a member of The Church of our Lord Jesus Christ, Ridgeway, VA. She attended the Henry County Training School.
Those left to cherish her memory include: One daughter, Sharon (Robert) Ramos of Collinsville, VA; two sons, Michael (Naylene) Kirby of Martinsville, VA, and William (Debbie) Gravely of Leland, NC; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation service will be held on Sunday, July 10, 2022, at 2 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:30 p.m. at Refuge Temple Ministries, 205 Clearview Dr., Martinsville, VA with Bishop Eugene Ramos, Presiding, and Elder Alan Preston, Eulogist. Burial will follow at Carver Memorial Garden. Viewing will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. In accordance with the CDC, a face covering, and social distancing is required. All other times, the family will be receiving friends at the home, 845 Smith St., Martinsville, VA. The family ask that when visiting the home that you observe all COVID 19 guidelines.
