Linda Gail Moyer, a beloved daughter, sister, and cherished member of her family, was called home to be with the Lord on August 31, 2026, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was 69 years old.
Linda was born on April 29, 1957, in Rockingham, North Carolina, to the late Hillard E. Moyer and Mamie Herford Moyer. She was a graduate of Laurel Park High School, Class of 1976, and later retired from Carter Bank Services.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by one brother, Jeffrey Moyer.
Linda was a woman who cherished her family and her faith. She was a member of St. Paul Holiness Church, where she found comfort, strength, and fellowship in the Lord. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life, and she leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and memories that will continue to live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Linda leaves to cherish her precious memory her beloved sister, Nora Moyer of Collinsville, Virginia; her brothers, Christopher Moyer, Dwight Moyer, Marvin Moyer, and Kenneth Moyer all of Axton, Virginia, and Ricky (Tamika) Moyer of Ridgeway, Virginia; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church family, and friends.
Though our hearts are heavy with the loss of Linda, we can find comfort in knowing that she is now resting safely in the arms of her Savior. Her earthly journey is complete, her work is done, and her suffering is over.
The Bible reminds us in 2 Timothy 4:7, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”
Linda has finished her course and kept the faith. She has exchanged this earthly life for eternal rest, and one day, those who love her will meet her again on that beautiful shore.
A visitation service will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. with the funeral service at 1 p.m. at St. Paul Holiness Church, 2383 Martin Ln., Axton, VA with Elder Barry Dillard, Eulogist. Interment will follow at the Moyer Family Cemetery, Axton, VA.
The family will receive friends at Hairston Funeral Home on Friday, September 4, 2026, between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Other times, the family will receive friends at the home of her brother and sister-in-law, Ricky & Tamika Moyer, 280 Roosevelt Dr., Ridgeway, VA.
