Lonnie Morrison, 60, of Clearview Dr., Martinsville, VA, departed this life on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at SOVAH Health - Martinsville. He was born in Virginia on March 20, 1960, the son of the late John J. Morrison and the late Mary Fannie Leftwich Morrison.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Hairston Morrison, three sisters, Ida Martin, Lillie B. Martin, and Alice Martin; two brothers, Eugene Morrison, and John J. Morrison.
Lonnie attended Evangelical Holiness Church, Axton, VA, and he was a disabled auto Mechanic.
Lonnie leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Mahogany Hairston of Eden, NC; two sisters, Shirley A. Wilson of Danville, VA, and Brenda M. Akers of Martinsville, VA; five brothers, Willie L. Morrison and Kerry Wayne both of Cascade, VA, Harvey L. Morrison of Danville, VA, Barry Morrison, Jr and Antonio Morrison both of Martinsville, VA; two grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at 2 p.m. at the Martin Family Cemetery, Cascade, VA, with Elder Marvin Slade, Eulogist. A public viewing will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. In accordance with the CDC, a face covering and social distancing is required.
