On Tuesday, January 13, 2026, our beloved Loretta Tinsley 76, of E. Church St., Martinsville peacefully transitioned from this life at her residence. She was born in Henry County, VA on April 1, 1949, to the late Tracy Hairston and Mother Margie Tinsley Moyer.
In addition to her parents, Loretta was preceded in death by one brother, Henry A. Tinsley and stepfather, Ben D. Moyer.
At an early age, Loretta confessed Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and became a member of St. Paul Holiness Church. While at St. Paul Holiness Church, Loretta served in a variety of capacities including, a Sunday School Teacher, President of the Choir, she sang with the Gospel Echoes, and the ABYPU.
Loretta was a graduate of George Washington Carver High School class of 1967. She retired from Bassett Walker and Hanes Brand after many years of dedicated service.
Loretta leaves behind a legacy of love, faith and resilience through her three loving sisters, Lois Kirby her twin of Martinsville, VA, Mae Bailey and her husband, Wayne of Danville, VA and Vera Moyer of Roanoke, VA; sister-in-law, Delois Tinsley; brother-in-law, Irvin Kirby; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A visitation service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. with the funeral service at 1 p.m. at St. Paul Holiness Church, 2383 Martin Ln., Axton, VA with Elder Barry Dillard, Eulogist. Interment will follow at St. Paul Holiness Church Cemetery.
A public viewing will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Hairston Funeral Home, 301 Fayette St., Martinsville between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Other times, the family will receive friends at the residence, 1151 E. Church St., Apt. 18B, Martinsville. Live streaming of the funeral service will be available at Hairston Funeral Home live via Facebook.

I'm so sorry to hear of Loretta's passing. She was such a bold soldier for the Lord. God gave her a beautiful voice and she used it for His glory. She will be missed. I'm praying for the family that God will wrap His arms around you and bring you comfort.
