Margaret Ann Patterson, 76, of Martinsville, VA, departed this life on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at SOVAH Health Martinsville. She was born in Martinsville, VA on December 7, 1948, the daughter of the late William Lee Patterson and the late Grace Brown Patterson.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her sister Nanette Marie Johnson and brother Earnest Lee Patterson.
Margaret attended Albert Harris High School.
She worked at Sales Knitting, then went to work at American Furniture Company until she became disabled. She was a member of Refuge Temple Ministries.
Margaret leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Timothy (Norma) Patterson of Martinsville; one daughter, Eileen Patterson of the home; two grandsons, Damian (Kristal) Patterson and, Kevin (Cameshia) Preston; five great-grandchildren, Kamari Preston, Kayla Preston, Jaiden Doyle, Layla Patterson, and Jayce Patterson; one sister, Cathy Craig of Martinsville, VA; three nieces, Erica Patterson, Susan Watkins, and Cherie Craig; one nephew, Donald Patterson Jr., and a host of other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Carver Memorial Gardens, 869 Parkway Drive, Martinsville, VA. Bishop Alan Preston, Eulogist.
A public Viewing will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Hairston Funeral Home, 301 Fayette St., Martinsville, VA. All other times, the family will receive friends at the home, 103 Endless Street, Martinsville, VA. Live streaming of the funeral service will be available at Hairston Funeral Home live via Facebook.
