Obituary For Mary Ruth Journiette
On Thursday, March 5, 2026, Mary Ruth Journiette, 95, of Martinsville peacefully transitioned from this life at Mulberry Creek Nursing & Rehab Center, Martinsville, VA. She was born in Halifax County, VA on November 3, 1930, to the late John Will Patrick and Mary Rebecca Brown Patrick.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore St. Matthew Journiette, Sr.; one daughter, Vara A. Lathon; one sister, Queen E. Patrick and one brother, James R. Patrick.
Mary was a member of Kingdon Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. She retired from Hieronymus Department Store after many years of dedicated service. Mary attended Addison High School.
Those left to cherish her memory includes one daughter, Jernell Greene of Martinsville, VA; wo sons, Theodore Journiette of Phenix, AZ and Timothy Journiette of Raleigh, NC; seven grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
All services will be private.

My grandma who i called me me will be deeply missed she made the best food and cakes everybody that came to visit her and my grandpa was made to feel.like family she had a sharp tounge wasnt afraid to speak her mind she was kind hearted very mild and humbled. Her spirituality with her GOD JEHOVAH was strong til her last breath Rev 21:3&4 ISA 33:24 is right around the corner RIP until we meet again
