Her legacy and her love touched me in more ways than one can imagine. It was her dedication and commitment that made a profound impact in my life. Being so young, at the time, I knew she was an important factor in shaping my future, it became more appreciative as I matured and experienced life.. Mrs. Travis was a joy to talk with. She was so kind and thoughtful towards my sister when they were residents at Mulberry Creek. My heart-felt condolences to the Travis family.

Mrs. Travis' life greatly impacted the lives of countless people as well as mine. As a teacher, she was a pillar in the community, and as a neighbor, she was sweet, kind and charming, with a bashful smile that just touched my heart. During my early pre-teen years until recent years, whether sitting on the porch, in the family den, or on the phone, I valued our chat times as nuggets of blessings in my life. Those memories will remain in my heart. She was just that special to me. Paula, thank you for sharing your mother. May the photos and innumerable memories help make this journey more bearable for you and those who loved her.

Mrs. Travis, like her husband, was a loyal supporter to me. I enjoyed the time I spent in their home receiving wise and sage advice. I also enjoyed my visits with her at Mulberry Creek. I thank God for allowing me to know and love Mrs. Travis and her amazing nieces. God bless you all.

I loved Mrs. Travis and learned so much from her in English class. She was a beautiful lady who carried herself with grace. She was soft spoken but her words were powerful, and she fully invested in her students. I consider myself very fortunate to have had her as a teacher during my formative years. She helped to solidly lay the foundation for my future. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

I was sad to learn of the passing of Mrs. Travis. I have very fond memories of her growing up as a child and as an adult. She was a great neighbor, citizen of Martinsville, servant of God, and she loved her family. Mrs. Travis was very soft spoken and a delightful person to be around. She had her own style of dress which was very classy and well put together. Mrs. Travis was very proper and walked with grace. I will miss her greatly.
