On Friday, February 2, 2024, Minnie Ruth Dandridge Curry Martin 103 of Carver Rd., Martinsville transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life at Stanleytown Health & Rehab Center. She was born in Henry County, VA on June 28, 1920, to the late John Dandridge, and Emma Schoolfield Dandridge.
In addition to her parents, Minnie was preceded in death by her first husband, John C. Curry, her second husband, Walter R. Martin, and one son, William Dandridge.
Minnie was a faithful member of Meadow Christian Church where she was the oldest member of the church, was a member of the Choir, and was a member of the Usher Board. She retired from American Furniture company after many years of service.
Minnie leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Sarah Hayes and Christine Curry both of Martinsville, VA; two sons, Monroe Dandridge (Leander) and Clarence Curry both of Martinsville, VA; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives, and friends.
A visitation service will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 noon at Meadow Christian Church,1140 Meadowood Trail, Martinsville, VA with Reverend Kenneth Hooker, Eulogist. The burial will follow at Meadow Christian Church Cemetery. A public viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Hairston Funeral Home, 301 Fayette St., Martinsville between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Other times, the family will be receiving friends at the home of her son Monroe Dandridge, 2235 Carver Rd., Martinsville.
