On Tuesday, July 15, 2025, our beloved Mother Ruby K. Moyer 83, of Martin Ln., Axton, VA peacefully transitioned at Ancora Compassionate Care, Reidsville, NC. She was born on September 27, 1941, in Virginia to the late Henry Niblett and Lelia Swanson Niblett.
In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by one daughter, Clarissa V. Johnson, and two brothers, Howard Niblett and William Niblett.
A deeply faith-filled woman, Ruby loved to bring joy to those around her and had a heart that sought to serve God and others. Her kindness, strength, and unwavering love will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Ruby was a member of Water Way Temple Apostolic Church, Bassett, VA. She retired from Tultex after thirty-three years of service, followed by Team Nurse.
Ruby leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and resilience through her devoted husband, Deacon Nathaniel Moyer of the home; one daughter, Mareka White (Dedrick) of Upper Marlboro, MD; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dollie Waller (Earl) and Ollie Clark both of Cascade, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A visitation service will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at 11 a.m. with the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. at Progressive Prayer Temple, 64 Cameron Rd., Martinsville. Interment will follow at the Moyer Family Cemetery, Moyer Ln., Axton, VA.
A public viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Hairston Funeral Home, 301 Fayette St., Martinsville, VA between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. The family will be present at this time. Other times, the family will receive friends at the residence, 2087 Martin Ln., Axton, VA. Live streaming of the funeral service will be available at Hairston Funeral Home live via Facebook.

Mama Ruby was such a sweet woman, whom loved God to the fullest.She was my second mother growing up whom opened her house up to me as if I was her very own. Heaven has definitely gained another 😇.
