Herbert Wilson,67,of 1067 Martin Lane, Axton, Va., passed away Monday, December 10,2018 at his home. He was born October 2, 1951 in Pittsylvania County to the late Mary Francis Wilson and the late George C. Wilson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Gunter and his father-in-law, Bishop Ed. Martin.
Herbert is survived by his wife, Betty M. Wilson of the home; one daughter, Sonya Wilson of Axton, VA; and one son, Ron Wilson(Misty) of Garland, TX; two grandchildren, Coi Wilson and Cameron Wilson; one sister, Virginia Garrett of Cascade, VA; and one brother, George H. Wilson of Callands, VA; mother-in-law, Bessie Martin of Axton, VA; and brother-in-law, Ed Martin Jr.(Deborah) of Martinsville, VA.
Herbert was a member of St. Paul Holiness Church, Axton, VA and was a bus driver for the Henry County Public School System. He retired from Mohawk in Eden, N.C.
The family will receive friends Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. at The C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home for visitation. Graveside service will be held Sunday, December 16, 2018 at 3 p.m. at St.Paul Holiness Church Cemetery in Axton, VA. Elder Barry Dillard, Eulogist.

Betty,I am truly sorry for this sad time you and your family are going through. I know you all will miss him, but I pray God will give ya'll strength during this time. Herbert was a sweet and dear person, and I remember the times you both was there to help us during Mom's sickness, we won't forget that. He was always helping Lo when she needed something, and we will be there for you.Love You! Lois.
