Obituary For Nanette Marie Johnson

Nanette Marie Johnson, 74, of Martinsville, VA departed from this life Friday, July 9, 2021 at Mulberry Creek Nursing & Rehab Center, Martinsville, VA. She was born in Martinsville, VA, on January 23, 1947, the daughter of the late William Lee Patterson, and the late Gracie Brown Patterson.

In addition to her parents, Nanette was preceded in death by her husband, Spencer Johnson, Jr.; two sons, Donald "Kimbo" Patterson, Sr., and an infant child; brother, Earnest Lee Patterson.

Nanette attended Albert Harris High School. Before becoming disabled, she worked at W.M. Bassett Furniture Company, and the Convalescent Home. She was a member of Refuge Temple Ministries.

Nanette leaves to cherish her memory, two grandchildren, Erica Cole Patterson, and Donald Theodore Patterson, Jr. both of Martinsville, VA; two great-grandchildren, Zyreonia Patterson, and Tayshawn Hairston both of Martinsville, VA; two sisters, Margaret Patterson, and Cathy Craig both of Martinsville, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home, with Elder Alan Preston, Eulogist. Burial will follow at Carver memorial Gardens. A public viewing will be held on Monday, July 12, 2021 at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. In accordance with the CDC, a face covering, and social distancing is required. All other times, the family will be receiving friends at the home, 103 Endless St., Martinsville, VA. The family ask that all visitors observe social distancing and to wear a face mask.
