Sending our love to all the family and to know that he was a special Nephew. I always remember the special conversations and meals we had together. I have great memories of Mark Sr visiting my office many times and picking on me and of course I would pick right back! I remember one day in particular he was reminiscing about being away from his wife and his young children and the sacrifices he had to make to provide for them. He wanted his children to learn what it meant to work and appreciate everything God had provided. You could see the love in his eyes as he talked about his family. He began to cry as he talked about how he asked God to help him provide for his family and God answered his prayers. Mark Sr led by example and has left a great legacy behind in his children and grandchildren. I also have the pleasure of working with Mark II and see what a kind, loving and close family they are. Mark Sr and I shared some great stories and yes, his corny jokes (which I loved)! Mark Sr stood firm on what he believed and never backed down. We can all learn from that! To his family, I am so very sorry about his passing. It's never easy to lose a parent. God will give you the grace and comfort today and in the days ahead. Mark Sr is finally home. I have known Pastor Mark for over 30 years as we both worked at Piedmont Trust Bank back in the early 90s. We were in different departments but knew each other. We also share something else in common. Both of us went into the ministry while at the bank. I was a little earlier than Pastor Mark but there was always that bond between us. As others have said he was an inspiration to a lot of us, and was blessed with godly wisdom. I loved his sense of humor as he was always easy to laugh. Our paths would cross every now and then, so we would catch up. Some years ago I tried to get him to run for City Council, and told him I would help him. His finance and business background as well as his love for people would have made him a good councilman. But I could not prevail. He would always say that a lot of people wouldn't like what he had to say. My response was "they would be wrong and out of touch." I will miss him, and so will this community and his church. Thank you Lord for allowing our paths to cross. Doug Ramsey
