Obituary For Patricia Emile Holland
Patricia Emile Holland departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at her residence. She was 81 years of age.
Patricia was born on December 24, 1944, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late Utah Akridge and the late Dora Thomas Trotter. She was united in marriage to James Carlton Holland, with whom she shared many cherished years.
Patricia was a longtime employee of Fieldcrest Mills. Through the years, she became known and loved by those around her for the life she shared with her family, relatives, and friends. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the memories she created will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by one daughter, Pamela Holland Adetunji; one son, Ricky Holland; two brothers, Wayne Trotter and Tyrone Trotter; and one sister, Joyce โPeeweeโ Akridge.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, James Carlton Holland of Martinsville VA; children, Michael Holland of Martinsville, Virginia; Travis Holland (Lakishia) of Charlotte, North Carolina; James Vincent Holland (Cecil) of Martinsville, Virginia; and Ronald Holland (Michelle) of Richmond, Virginia; one brother, Lynwood Trotter of Martinsville, Virginia; two sisters-in-law, Brenda Trotter and Frances Trotter; special cousin, Regina Wright Abbott of Martinsville, Virginia; along with a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
A visitation service will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. with the funeral service at 12 noon at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home, 301 Fayette St., Martinsville with Dr. Eric Hairston, Eulogist. Interment will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens, 869 Parkway Dr., Martinsville, VA.
A public viewing will be held at Hairston Funeral Home on Monday, September 28, 2026, between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Other tiles, the family will receive friends at the residence from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. daily.

I'm forever mindful of a son's love for his mother. I say that to say this, my brother Tim has been friends with Ronald for decades. We traveled with Ronald to visit his mother at a skilled facility in Roanoke there I was enabled to witness the love of a son and its mother. The pains of death will soon be eradicated from the face of the earth, until then we'll have to bear its blunt. The Mitchell family sincerely hold the Holland family in our hearts and prayers during this time of death. Take courage there's going to be a resurrection of righteous as well the unrighteous in God's time.

Patricia was a sweet sister-n-law. My last visit with her was enjoyable and she was glad to see me. I'm glad I was able to spend this time with her. Will truly miss her. Condolences to the family. Love you. Harry and Emma Retta
