Raymond E. Martin, 83, of Davenport Fl, passed away on October 4, 2025 at Advent Hospital in Davenport Florida.
Raymond was born on April 7, 1942 in Martinsville, Virginia to the late Reverend George W. Martin and Missie Morrison. He was a previous member of Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church in Martinsville, Va.
Raymond graduated from Albert Harris High School and later joined the United States Army. After serving, he later became employed with American Furniture and later moved to DuPont. He worked at DuPont for 33 years where he later retired.
Those to cherish his memory include his wife Joan H. Martin, his daughter, Sarina M. Alexander, his grandsons, Noah and Nevin Alexander, his godchild, Nikia Witcher and family and friends.
Raymond was very compassionate about helping others. He loved to travel and see new places along with fishing, so he could catch the big one!
A visitation service will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, @ 12:30 p.m. with the funeral service at 1 p.m. at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home, 301 Fayette St., Martinsville with Bishop James R. Perkins, Presiding and Elder Marvin Slade, Eulogist. Interment will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens, 869 Parkway Dr., Martinsville, Va.
A public visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Hairston Funeral Home from 1pm to 5pm. Live streaming of the funeral service will be available at Hairston Funeral Home live via Facebook.

Raymond was a true neighbor abd friend. I helped him to keep his lawn equipment, pressure washer going. He helped me with chores abround my house.
