Samson L. Hairston, age 89, of Elijah Circle, Martinsville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Mulberry Creek Nursing & Rehab Center. He was born on January 10, 1937, in Martinsville, Virginia.

In addition to his parents, Sampson was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Hairston.

Samson was a proud Navy veteran and a high school graduate. He will be remembered and deeply missed by his loving family and friends.

He leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Buford Bracey of Hinesville, GA, and Sampson Bracey of San Francisco, CA; his daughters, Sheena Bracey of Dallas, TX, Priscilla Pritchett of Martinsville, VA, Bernadette Faison of Washington, D.C., and Shirley Stockton of Martinsville, VA; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Samson's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he rest peacefully, knowing that his life touched many and that he will never be forgotten.
