Obituary For Shernita M. Wimbush
On Monday, January 29, 2024, Shernita Marie Wimbush 38, of Lowell St., Danville, VA transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life at Rocky Mount Health & Rehab center, Rocky Mount, VA. She was born in Danville, VA on October 3, 1985, the daughter of Herbert Swanson Wimbush, Jr., and the late Sharon Martin Wimbush.
Prior to her declining health, Shernita attended True Holiness the Holy Tabernacle of Jesus Christ, Danville, VA. She Attended the Pittsylvania Public Schools and was a 2004 graduate of Tunstall High School.
Shernita leaves to cherish her memory one son, Christopher Jerrod Wimbush of Danville, VA; her father, Herbert Swanson Wimbush, Jr of Danville, VA; one sister, Shewanna Benhamou of Greensboro, NC; three brothers, Gary Woodson, Herbert S. Wimbush III, (Nathalie) and Tylor Wimbush all of Danville, VA; paternal grandmother, Shirley Wimbush of Chatham, VA; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A visitation service will be held on Monday, February 5, 2024, at 11:30 A.M. until the time of the funeral service at 12 noon at True Holiness the Holy Tabernacle of Jesus Christ, 502 Southampton Ave., Danville, VA. The burial will follow at the Martin Family Cemetery, Cascade, VA. A public viewing will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at Hairston Funeral Home, 301 Fayette St., Martinsville, VA between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Other times, the family will be receiving friends at the home of her brother, Gary Woodson, 108 Elliott St., Danville, VA between the hours of 3 p.m. till 7 p.m. daily.
