On Wednesday, November 27, 2024, Stella Marie Haislip 67, of Haislip LN., Axton, VA transitioned peacefully at her residence. She was born in Martinsville, VA on May 22, 1957, to the late William Oliver Gravely and Polly Ann Hairston Gravely.
In addition to her parents, Stella was preceded in death by two sisters, Teresa Davis, and Mother Shirley P. Gravely, and one brother, Fred Gravely.
At an early age, Stella gave her life to the Lord and became a member of Mt. Olive United Holy Church. She was a graduate of Laurel Park High School class of 1976.
Those left to cherish her memory includes two daughters, Alethea Stockton (Courtney), and LaConnia Haislip both of Martinsville, VA; four grandchildren, Jamelia Still, Mia' Bella Wimbush, Marqus Becker, and Elise Glenn all of Martinsville, VA; devoted friend, Michael Haislip of Martinsville, VA; three sisters, Lucy Wilson of Norfolk, VA, Edith Redd and Emma Jenkins both of Martinsville, VA; two brothers, Lewis Gravely and Mearl Gravely both of Martinsville, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A visitation service will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. with the funeral service at 12 noon at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home, 301 Fayette St., Martinsville, VA with Pastor Daniel Morrison, Eulogist. Interment will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens, 869 Parkway Dr., Martinsville, VA.
A public viewing will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Other times, the family will be receiving friends at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Alethea and Courtney Stockton, 543 Chatmoss Court, Martinsville from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. daily.
