Obituary For Stewart G. "June" Gravely, Jr.

Stewart G. "June" Gravely, Jr., 83, of Myrtle Rd., Martinsville, VA, departed this life on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at his residence. He was born November 10, 1936 in Henry County, VA, to the late Mittie Fuller Gravely and the late Stewart G. Gravely. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Cecil Volley and Ernestine Pitzer.

Stewart was a member of Perfecting Unity Church in Roanoke, VA, and attended St. Paul High St. Baptist Church, Martinsville, VA. He retired from a florist shop in New York.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his sister, Benita Thornton of Los Angeles, CA; one brother, Ervin Hairston of Martinsville, VA; and a special niece and caregiver, Tracy Hughes of Martinsville, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul High Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Matthew Brown, Eulogist. The family will receive friends at 10:30 a.m. at the church and all other times at the home of his niece, Tracy Hughes, 924 Myrtle Rd., Martinsville, VA.

Interment will be held at Carver Memorial Gardens, Martinsville, VA.
