On Tuesday, July 29, 2025, Sylvia Jean Witcher Niblett 71, of Halfway Rd., Martinsville peacefully transitioned from this earthly life at Raleigh Court Health & Rehab Center, Roanoke, VA. She was born in Virginia on September 3, 1953, the daughter of the late Thelmon Douglas Witcher and Amy Fuller Witcher.
In addition to her parents, Sylvia was preceded in death by one brother, Tony Witcher.
Sylvia was a George Washington Carver High School graduate class of 1971 and she attended St. Paul College. She retired from Walmart after twenty-two years of service.
Sylvia leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Freddie Niblett of the home; one brother, Donald Witcher (Octavia) of Martinsville, VA; and a host of other relatives, and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Carver Memorial Gardens, 969 Parkway Dr., Martinsville with Reverend Anthony Woody.
A public viewing will be held on Monday, August 4, 2025, at Hairston Funeral Home, 301 Fayette St., Martinsville between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Other times, the family will receive friends at the residence, 215 Halfway Rd., Martinsville. Live streaming of the graveside service will be available at Hairston Funeral Home live via Facebook.
