Obituary For Timothy R. Wade
Timothy R. Wade, 70, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2026, at Stanleytown Health & Rehab Center.
Born on September 9, 1955, in Martinsville, to the late Sam Letcher Wade and Emma Thomas Wade. Timothy was a beloved son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be remembered not only for the life he lived, but for the love, memories, and special moments he shared with the people around him. He was a graduate of Martinsville High School.
In addition to his parents, Timothy was preceded in death by one daughter, Dana Dockery; one sister, Brenda Thomas and one brother, Calvin Thomas.
Timothy leaves to cherish his memory his children, Vernika Watson and her husband, Michael, Sr. of Charlotte, NC and Torrey โBig Toeโ Penn and his wife Sonyaโ of Martinsville, VA; one sister, Jennifer Diane Wade of Charlotte, NC; one brother, Reginald Thomas and his wife Denise of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Mikiyah Watson, Michael Watson, Jr., Maliek Watson, Tevin Penn, T'Mesha Penn, Misty Osborne and Drema Eggleston; two step-grandchildren, Alexus Pilson and Aaliyah Pilson; sister-in-law, Rebecca Thomas; great nephew, Trenton Wade; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends whose lives were touched by his presence. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A visitation service will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. with the funeral service at 12 noon at Refuge Temple Ministries, 205 Clearview Dr., Martinsville. Interment will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens, 869 Parkway Dr., Martinsville.
The family will receive friends at Hairston Funeral Home on Friday, August 22, 2026, from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Other times, the family will receive friends at 1137 Pine Hall Rd., Martinsville. Live streaming of the funeral service will be available at Hairston Funeral Home live via Facebook.
