On Monday, April 7, 2025, Tomeaka Venable 53, of Hairston St., Martinsville transitioned peacefully from this earthly life at her residence. She was born on April 21, 1971, in Martinsville, VA to Thomas G. Mitchell and Christine E. Venable.
Tomeaka was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents that raised her for twelve years, Lawrance L.G. Venable, Sr. and Mary Ester Tinsley Venable, her paternal grandparents, Thomas Joseph Mitchell and Inez Penn Mitchell, and four uncles, Marvin L. Venable, Johnny L. Venable, Joseph Anthony Mitchell, and William Rayford Mitchell.
Tomeaka was a member of Trinity Church of the Living God, Stuart, VA. She was a graduate of Martinsville High School. Tomeaka was employed by Public Partners for six years.
Tomeaka leaves to cherish her memory her father, Thomas G. Mitchell; her mother, Christine E. Venable; two daughters, Jada M. Venable and Mykeayah O. Venable; one son, Christopher O. Venable; six grandchildren, Zymier D. Venable, Diamond M. Venable, Miyana A. Parker, Camarius M. Venable, Caydence R. Venable and Ta'Caurian R. Venable; fiancΓ©, Chauncey A. Chism; brother, Timothy Draper (Antoinnette); her siblings; and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Church of the Living God, 356 Tatum Lane, Stuart, VA with Bishop Burgie Penn, Eulogist. Interment will be private. Live streaming of the memorial service will be available at Hairston Funeral Home live via Facebook.
