Tony O. Clark

I retired from Presbyterian after working as a nurse for 43 years, the last for 15 with Tony. He was such a special soul and made my work and my patients lives so much better. He was the sweetest, Kindest gentle soul. He and I had so many talks and his advice was right on target. I know he loved God, family his friends and most of all his Mom. He will always be in my memories and thoughts. My God wrap his arms around his family and comfort them. Myra from 4C.

Carol, I was shocked to hear of Tony's passing. I can't remember a time as a child when he wasn't across the street with his family. My deepest condolences are with you, his family and his abundance of friends. Truly a good one gone too soon

Tony and my late brother Mark Hairston were at VSU together and I use to visit them there back in the 80s. We are both past Airborne officers!! He was a great man and a good friend to all!!

Words cannot express my deep shock and sadness upon learning of Tony's passing. I met Tony four years ago when I started working at Novant Presbyterian Medical Center. When he found out that we were both born and raised in Virginia (him from Martinsville & me from Newport News), we became instant friends. The main topic of the day would always be about our mothers. I'm really going to miss seeing that bright smile of his. If he was having a bad day, he never showed it. To his Mom, know that Tony loved you with all of his heart and soul. To his family, you are all in my thoughts & prayers. Know that you now have a very special guardian angel watching over you. Carol, your sons and grandson, my heart goes out to you, because Tony as you always referred to him as daddy, everyone knew that you and he was each others best friends, I came to you alls home after Orlando graduated from high school and love the love that was in your home and how you both made everyone feel so welcome, you talked about living in Chase, afterwards my husband always referred to you as Chase. Tony and I became friends at Presbyterian. My son was in high school at the time and was doing great in football. Every Monday I had to give him the run down of the game. He always had a message for me to give my son. Also, he always had the coolest socks! He dressed amazing, so I always asked to see his socks. He would laugh and them show them off! I will miss him. Tony and I became good friends as I trained him in the Case Management Department at Forsyth Medical Center. He was always praising me for training him. We had not spoken to each other in years and out of the blue, he called me about a couple of months ago and he was the same old Tony. We laughed and again he thanked me for the training. My thoughts and prayers to Tony's family and friends. I can't say Tony and I were close friends, but we were definitely friendly. I called on him in the hospital as I work with a home health agency. He had a wonderful spirit about him and I always appreciated our conversations on being "Dressed to the nines" as Tony was always looking his best. Thank you for sharing him with us.
