Chaz Michael Mays

I’ve never got a chance to meet Chaz personally, I just met his mother, Alisha earlier this year and I can honestly say she is one of the most genuine, caring, real and loving spirits I’ve come across on this journey. I can only imagine how much of that awesome spirit she passed on to her sweet baby boy. I know that words can’t heal the hurt, pain, and sorrow that Alisha and family are feeling but I do hope they offer you just a little comfort. My heart and prayers are with you now and forever. Rest in paradise baby boy.

I was Chaz's teacher this school year. I have many fond memories of him and I will cherish them forever. Chaz was a very loving, compassionate, empathetic, sweet, kind-hearted, brilliant and respectful young man. I often called him “my gentleman.” He was always doing special things for me. Whether it was a thoughtful note, flowers, a sweet treat, opening doors for me, pulling out my chair, buying me a Coke Zero (if I had a hard day), or a loving gift at Christmas, my birthday, Teacher’s Appreciation, or just out of the blue. He always made me feel loved and cared for as his teacher. He was always happy, flashing that great smile, with his handsome self! He loved learning many different math topics. Math was his passion! He excelled in it! He worked very hard to do his best, and his best was always what he gave me! I looked forward to seeing my precious Chaz each and everyday! He will be missed dearly by so many people. I see my angel Chaz flying high, and I now consider him to be one of my guardian angels. I will always thank God for allowing me to be a part of his life as well as his family's lives. May God continue to bless, strengthen, and keep you, Chase Sr., Alicia, and Chase Jr., as well as your entire family during this very difficult time. I love you all. Rest in Paradise and continue to shine down on us my sweet baby boy, Chaz.
