Donovan Hudson

I never had the pleasure of meeting Donovan, but I grew up with his parents, and they were both well-known in Opelousas. His grandparents lived near my home in Opelousas. My sister, Delores Singleton=Blackwell worked for his dad for many years before she left Opelousas. The Singleton family sends prayers to the family, especially his sister, Theresa Hudson, who is a law student at Southern University, where I am employed. Sincere condolences!

I am saddened to learn of Donovan's passing. We were in high school at SSC together. One year, he easily defeated me in the election for student council president (I even voted for him); I told him years later that he was always a much better candidate and in fact did a job superior to anything that I could have accomplished. May his soul rest in peace as he joins the communion of saints, including his parents, who I recall warmly from the 1970's as pillars of their community and great role models for his life.

I'm so sorry for your loss my deepest condolences to his family. Donovan "Moe" and I graduated high school the same year and were in the SSC band together for several years. My husband graduated with him. We will definitely miss him. Fly high my friend until we meet again. Beth and Tom
