2 Corinthians 5:8 KJV [8] We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. Family, trust in the Lord during these times.
Coming home we will miss seen your face you was all way smiling and inviting us into you and our aunt home we love you always Rip.
Although you are my grandpa, you are my dad. You raised me from August 1988 until the lord called you home. I always would have a routine of finding you either in your room or the kitchen to let you know i made it back home. You have groomed me into the young lady I am today. I respect, love, cherish, and adore you. I would tell everyone you and mommie are my hearts and although you are with the lord, you still are my heart. Our last laugh, jokes, smiles, chats were hours in the kitchen 12/21/25 and 12/25/2025. Vonte walked in the kitchen and you said head all knotted, nose all snotty lol. I have always carried you in my spirit and in my heart. I know you are resting very well and doing your work for the lord now. I am who I am because of YOU! I love you dad, and I know you are having the time of you External life with the lord. Job well done dad, Job well done. You always said, MY name Joe and I'm got to go! Thank you for showing planting and rooting in me wisdom, knowledge, work ethics, values, and morals. Your daughter/granddaughter
Trisha
My great-grandpa meant more to me than words can express. I was truly blessed to have known him for 20 years and to have grown up hearing his stories about life "back then," stories full of wisdom, humor, and love.
Some of my favorite memories are the quiet moments we shared—him teaching me how to build a mailbox, explaining what kind of wood to use, and always asking me to help, making me feel stronger and capable. Those moments weren't just lessons; they were time spent bonding, learning, and loving one another.

Words can't explain how much you meant to not just to your family but to many others. The mark you made to those around will live forever. Great grandpa was the one who showed me age doesn't matter to do things with your hands. Get your rest in the most peaceful way because you deserve it. Love you

Uncle J.D. will be truly missed by all. Prayers to our entire family.
One thing I can truly say about my grandfather is that he was such a loving man. I am the oldest granddaughter of all the grandchildren, and I was born on my grandparents' anniversary. I used to always call my grandparents to wish them a happy anniversary. My grandfather was warm, loving, and full of joy, and he is going to be missed so much. When I was a little girl, he would always have us come out and work, and during that time he would tell us stories about his life and all that he had accomplished. Hearing those stories was always so amazing to me. He lived a long and prosperous life, living to the age of 93. He was a wonderful Christian man who loved the Lord. He never hesitated to talk to us about Christ, and those moments will always stay with me. I'm truly going to miss being around him. He was such an awesome and funny grandfather—he always kept me laughing. I would always tell him, "Hi Grandpa, you're looking good! You look so young," and he would say, "Thank you, Tossie," my nickname from my grandpa. I'm going to miss seeing his beautiful smile. Even though we miss him dearly, I know he is in a better place. God loves him, and Jesus loves him even more and I know I will see him again. May you rest in peace, Grandpa.
Love, Latasha Lott
Such a hardworking man, with a heart just as strong as his work ethic. You were deeply loved and truly adored by everyone who had the privilege of knowing you. Your kindness, wisdom, and strength left a lasting impression on so many lives. You may be gone, but the love you gave and the memories you created will live on forever. -Brandy

I would like to offer my condolences and Prayers to the family of Joseph Dave "J. D." Walker, SR.
I'll never forget when great grandpa used to have me and my cousin help him build stuff around the house with him. Keep in mind this is when he was in his 80s this man was the most hardworking man I've ever seen in my life.
Joseph Dave "J.D." Walker, Sr. My grandpa wow let me start by saying a God fearing man Father and King! I wouldn't even know or understand the Bible or spirituality if it wasn't for my grandfather, Every Sunday when I would come visit I would wake up early just so I could go to church with my grandfather eager and inspired to learn the word of God by my grandfathers leadership and spiritual guidance and ambition...Such a proud and powerful man, very articulate very creative and intelligent! My grandfather lived a long blessed life and I know he is glorifying and rejoicing with The Most High God and our ancestors in the spiritual realm! My grandfather taught me the true meaning of leadership.... 1 Corinthians Chapter 15 Verse 40- There are heavenly bodies and earthly bodies, but the glory of the heavenly is one, and the glory of the earthly is another. Until I see you again rest in the Lord grandpa nothing but love and respect.... Your grandson....Charles Lott J.R.
I first heard of Mr Walker when Josie and I met in 1979. The way she described him had me thinking he had to be 7 feet tall and 300 pounds.
We finally met in person at the Walker Family Reunion and I had the chance to get to know him.
After a couple of hours talking in his backyard workshop I realized that Josie's initial description of her Daddy was entirely accurate.
He impressed me with his smooth and confident manner that lets everyone know that he can accomplish anything.
He wasn't 7 feet tall and 300lbs but he surely was a Giant in my eyes. Be proud of his accomplishments.
Mr. Walker It's beens a honor to be blessed by your presence. A template for younger men on how to lead a family. I definitely value the years of advice you bestowed on me. GOD bless you, your WIFE and the FAMILY.
How we thank and praise God for the life and legacy of Mr. Joseph Dave "J.D." Walker of Bayou Goula, La.! I recall Papa Walker visiting Southern California and working in the back yard of his daughter's house in Temecula. He was a self-taught expert and extraordinarily skilled builder, who apparently still loved fixing things and climbing ladders. Once I offered him the following advice: "Big Papa Walker, stay off that ladder —before something be the matter." Thank God for his strategic role in raising Audrey and Josie to become God fearing women who are to me dear and cherished friends for decades. To all offspring and the generations MUCH Love❤️ MUCH Prayer🙏🏽
