Carlton Byron Parker
November 9, 1955 – February 10, 2026
Carlton B. Parker, 70, of Alpharetta, Georgia passed away peacefully at home wrapped up in love by friends and family on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.
Carlton, or CP as he was affectionately referred to, was born on November 9, 1955 in Mobile, Alabama to Grady and Rachel Parker. He spent his youth in Mobile and later in Columbia, South Carolina. As a teenager and young man, he spent his time playing many sports – baseball, wrestling and handball to name just a few. After starting his college career at Georgia Tech, he would finally graduate from Louisiana State University and was a proud LSU Tiger. Later in life, CP would develop a love for golf and, while he never bragged about how good he was, he played (and won!) many tournaments as a scratch golfer.
Carlton built a successful career as an architect and construction manager. He loved creating and building all types of things and fancied himself a master woodworker. His work can be seen all over the United States, with his last portfolio consisting of million square foot Amazon distribution centers. He was known for his kindness and generosity – CP would jump at the chance to help friends, neighbors and loved ones complete all types of projects. When he wasn’t golfing, you could find CP at many sports outings – lacrosse and football games dominated his weeknights and weekends.
Carlton is survived by his wife, Nani Parker, and stepsons, Jacob and Jett Fusco. He is also survived by his four beautiful daughters and their families. Lauren Henning (Carl and Ava), Erin Bailes (Jonathan, Grady, Audrey and Annie), Amy Parker (Bella and Jordan), and Lindsey Ladner (Blake, Trace and Lakelyn). He is also survived by his father, Grady Parker (Louise), sister, Cherie Herring (Bert, Parker, Maggie and Catherine) and brother, Adrian Parker (Kelly, Reed and Rachel). Carlton is predeceased by his loving mother, Rachel Parker.
Carlton loved his family, he loved good food, and he loved to travel. His huge heart, big laugh, and genuine concern for the people he loved will be sorely missed.
A Celebration of his life will be held at North Point Community Church in Alpharetta, Georgia on Friday, February 20. Family visitation is from 1-2PM, with services following from 2-3PM ET.
In lieu of flowers, we ask you consider making a contribution to CureNFwithJack at www.curenfwithjack.org. Carlton loved the Burkes and was a passionate supporter and advocate of CureNFwithJack’s mission to find a cure or effective treatment for neurofibromatosis.
