Deacon Matthew Tooley (83) was born on February 11, 1936 in Hahira, Ga. to the late Matthew Brown and Minnie T. Jones. He attended the public schools of Valdosta, Ga.
He was a faithful member and Deacon of Morning Star Baptist Church of Valdosta, Ga.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Matthew Brown and Minnie T. Jones, Brothers William Tooley and Henry Slater Tooley, First wife Gussie Tooley, Grandson Santonio Bivins, God parents Deacon Author and Leola Williams.
He was retired from Langdale Forest and Winn-Dixie Stores.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of 30 years Fairie L. Tooley. His children Geanette (Timothy) Hill, Sharon (Tommy) Hayes of Valdosta, GA., Minnie CoCo Tooley of Charlotte, North Carolina, Wilma Moore of Cummings, Ga., Rittie Lear Brantley of New Haven, Connecticut, Raleanra Quiller of Augusta, Ga., Isabella Timpson of L.A., California, Frank (Deborah) Stokes of Macon, Ga., John Timpson of Texas., Zechariah Timpson, Melissa Bradley, Selenthia (Gregory) Griffin all of Valdosta, Ga. God children Nina (Larry) Jones and Stephanie Austin. God brothers and sisters Curtis Williams, Jeanie (Leon) Mitchell, Mary (James) Moye, Christine Williams, Diane (Troy) Riley, Eva Williams all of Valdosta, Ga. Johnny (Dorthy) Williams of Atlanta, Ga. Brother in laws Sam (Carol) Stokes of Arizona and Leo S. Brown of Jamaica, Frank (Shirley) Moore, Gary (Phyllis) Moore, Jeffery Moore all of Valdosta, Ga., Robert (Charlene) Moore of Richmond Hill, Ga. Sister in Laws Carol (Calvin) Stevenson, Rozetta Foster, Betty Moore, Pamela Moore, Helen Moore all of Valdosta, Ga., Diane (Freddie) Butler of Elgin, South Carolina, Pamela L. Moore of Orlando Fla.
He also leaves to cherish his memories a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. A special cousin/brother Freddie (Hilda) Tooley.

On January 04, 2020, Mr. Matthew "Boot" Tooley gained his wings into heaven.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 AM from the sanctuary of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church - burial will follow in Pallbearers Cemetery.
