The arms of our Lord now surround the loving Gates family as they say a loving farewell to their beloved:
Elder Vernon S. Gates Sr., he was born on Wednesday, December 16, 1953 to the late Mr. George Sr. & Mrs. Ludell Gates.
He attended Valdosta City Schools, where he completed and graduated from Valdosta High School.
At the age of 67, God saw fit to call him from this walk of life. Elder Gates of Valdosta, GA. transitioned on Wednesday, January 20,2021.
Life Celebration Services will be remembered and honored on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Evangel Temple Church - 2045 Clay Road, Bishop Dr. Henry E. Wright is pastor and will officiate. Burial will follow in the Southview Cemetery.
Final Care and Compassionate Services are being expressed with love, care and uncompromising dignity by Harrington Funeral Home Inc.

I was his helper on the Print Press and he taught me the ropes.
Everytime we would bump into each other, he always had Barry kind words of encouragement.
