"PRECIOUS IN THE SIGHT OF THE LORD, IS THE DEATH OF HIS SAINTS."
PSALM 116:15
It is with great sadness that we announce the transition of The Solomon Family's beloved Lady Sarah Solomon, a servant of The Lord God Almighty, loving, and devoted wife, and a caring and nurturing mother.
Lady Sarah Solomon of Valdosta, GA, was born Saturday, February 23, 1952, and transitioned peacefully the early morning hours, of Monday, January 15, 2024. Matthew 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
The name Sarah, is indeed translated as “princess”—though Sarah's more literal meaning in Hebrew and Persian is “woman of high rank.” You may also see the name Sarah interpreted as “noblewoman,” “lady,” or “happy.”
Lady Solomon cannot just be measured only by those traits, however, the impact of her humble but valiant service, in her home, the church, in the classroom, community, and abroad, will forever live in the hearts of those she loved for generations to come.
To my loving family, fill not your heart with pain and sorrow, but remember me in every tomorrow. Remember the joy, the laughter, the smiles, I've only gone to rest a little while. Although my leaving causes pain and grief, my going has eased my hurt and given me relief.
So, dry your eyes and remember me not as I am now, but as I use to be. Because I will remember you all and look on with a smile, Understand, in your hearts, I've only gone to rest a little while. As long as I have the love of each of you, I can live my life in the hearts of all of you.
The family will host family hour, Friday, January 19, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM from the sanctuary of Crossing Jordan Baptist Church - 1401 Cypress Street, Valdosta Georgia.
Celebration of Life Services honoring a Proverbs 31 Woman: Will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 2:00 PM from The Performing Arts Center, located at 3101 North Barack Obama Blvd, Valdosta, Georgia.
Interment: will follow the triumphant celebration of life, in the Southview Cemetery, located on Clay Road, Valdosta, Georgia.
A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband; Such an excellent wife who can find? She opens her mouth with wisdom always; The words she speaks are gentle, and kind. She looks well to the ways of her household; Tirelessly she does her everyday duties. Strength and honor she wears as her clothing - That is why her price is far above rubies. A virtuous woman looks after the needy; She extends her hands to the poor. She knows beauty is vain, and favor deceitful, and fearing the Lord is worth far more. The heart of her husband can trust in her; She'll do him good all the days of her life. A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband - Blessed is the man who finds such a wife!
The family sincerely would like to thank all those who have continually prayed for and assisted them during this time.
Final Care and Compassionate Services are being expressed to the “Solomon Family” by HARRINGTON FUNERAL HOME INC., with love, care, and uncompromising dignity.
Sarah Solomon was truly a loving and gracious lady. I knew her for many years and was so taken with how she cared for the students she taught. Sarah handled her months of illness and treatments, as well as her hospitalizations, in her usual gracious way and was always concerned most for her husband Horace. I will remember Sarah always and I offer my deepest sympathy to Horace and her family. Sharon Coleman
My prayers and thoughts are with the Solomon family. You all allowed us to share in knowing and loving Lady Solomon, all of my life and for that I am grateful. I pray your strength and hope that you are able to find solace in knowing that Mother Sarah Solomon is resting with the Lord and that one day, we shall all meet again. Bless your hearts and know that I am praying for you.

Mrs. Solomon was the sweetest soul you would ever meet! I was blessed to work with her and call her my sweet friend. Her presence will truly be missed! I prayed God would take away her pain, but I selfishly hoped He would heal her here. Rest easy sweet lady❤️
Sending my condolences to a wonderful woman of God. May your family be comforted in the Lord. Sister Janice Davis
Our prayers and condolences to Bishop Solomon and family. We will miss her dearly. To be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord. Rest in His arms sweet Mother Sara.

Mrs. Solomon was such a kind, sweet, and loving woman. She was one of my mentors in college while I was in the education program at Valdosta State University. She always checked in on me and made sure any questions I had were always answered. She will deeply be missed and I want to sincerely send my deepest condolences to the Solomon family during this difficult time. With love, Ranesha Jackson
