Obituary For Mother Rose Marie Rush Nelson

Though the clouds may hang over, there will be a brighter day, in that land that they call HEAVEN, GOD shall wipe all tears away. With faith and assurance that God will see us through.

With humble submission to the will of God, we stand with this precious Nelson Family to promulgate to all on the passing of their beloved:

Mrs. Rose Nelson (80) of Valdosta, Georgia, she departed this earthly life on Thursday, June 27, 2019.

Rose Marie "Rush" Nelson, 80, was born May 30, 1939 in Tallahassee, Florida to the late Lula Marie Murray and the late Wesley Rush. She was married to the late Preston Nelson. She attended Dasher High School in Valdosta, GA. Rose accepted Christ at an early age. She was a faithful member of Lighthouse Christian Fellowship Center in Lake Park, GA under the leadership of Pastor Reginald Benjamin, where she served as church mother for numerous years. She was a dedicated and faithful member until her death.

Rose was employed by Moody Air Force Base Commissary and Denny's Restaurant in Valdosta for a number of years. Her enjoyment came from her family, especially her grandchildren and her great grands.

In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy Lee Rush, and Cynthia Ann Murray Evans; nieces, Rhonda Murray, and Vonda Murray; and her stepfather, Richard Murray, Sr.

She leaves to cherish the many precious memories her dedicated, devoted, and caring daughter, Lula Diane (Edward) Freeman, who is her one and only baby; her granddaughters, Natarsha (Reggie) Cobb, and Ingrid (Nicholas) Harden; great grandchildren, Damian White, Raneisha Cobb, Kaleb Harden, and Kendall Harden; her sisters, Jeraldine (Willie) Houston, Virgil Ree Dumas, and Angela (John) Haddin; her brothers, Richard Murray, Alexander James (Pat) Murray, and Eddie (Jennifer) Murray, Virgil Lee (Mattie) Murray, Nathaniel (Dot) Rush, and Alonzo (Wilma) Rush; step daughters, Sheilda Ann (Charles) Miller, and Melvie Ruth Maxwell; sister-in-law, Beatrice Stoney; special friends, Louise Harden and Dorothy Hughley; and a host of other relatives, cousins, and friends.

Life Celebration Services Life Celebration Services will take place on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at 1:00pm from Lighthouse Fellowship Church - 5802 Danieli Dr South Lake Park, Georgia. Bishop Reginald Benjamin is pastor and will officiate.

Mrs. Rose Nelson will be laid to rest in the Sunset Hill Cemetery,1100 North Oak Street Valdosta, Georgia.
