Mr. Cagie "C.W." Whitfield Nobles of Valdosta, Georgia - after 84 years of living, God has decided to call him into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 27, 2022.
Cagie Whitfield Nobles, affectionately known as “CW” was born on September 18, 1937, to the late Cagie and Georgia Bell Nobles. CW transitioned peacefully at South Georgia Medical Center. He was a member of Park Avenue Seventh Day Adventist Church. He loved to read and studied the Bible on a daily.
Cagie W. Nobles assumed the head of the household at age 14 and carried this learning experience into the later 70 years of his life.
He finished high school in 1956 from the Wabbaseka School District in Wabbaseka, Arkansas, graduating at the top of his class. He spent the first four years after graduating high school in the US Air Force. After a brief stint at civilian life, he re-enlisted in the Air Force where he completed a career of 24 years. His military career was long and distinguished. CW was an aircraft mechanic, Field Trainer where he taught enlisted personnel how to work on C47 Gunship Aircraft. He later was sent to Viet Nam and became a gunner, sitting in the window of the C47 plane where the life expectancy was very short, but he survived. He was later promoted to Senior Master SGT, the rank at his retirement.
His long, distinguished military career earned him medals such as Meritorious Service with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, Viet Nam Service, Good Conduct with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters, Longevity with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters, Accommodation with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters, and Flying Cross.
His education and travels were extensive. He traveled to Viet Nam, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, Okinowa and various temporary teaching duties in the US. His Education included 20 years of both civilian and Air Force Schools of Management and college courses on various bases.
CW Nobles retired from Moody Air Force Base in 1980 as Senior Master Sergeant. While in the Service Cagie have traveled the world while serving in the Air Force. He loved to share his experiences and stories. He also retired from Cracker Good Bakery.
He was preceded in death by her Parents: Cagie and Georgia Bell Nobles; Bonus Daughter: Traciel “Bo” Davis; Sisters: Cecelia James, Laverne Beverly, and Louise Nobles; Brothers: Eugene Nobles, Joseph Nobles, and Danny Nobles; Sister-in-law: Mary Franklin; Brother-in-law: James Carter Sr.
Cagie leaves to cherish his wife for 40 years, Mrs. Jessie Mae Nobles, daughter Trendolyn R. Hopkins of Thailand; four bonus children: Godfrey (Francine) Williams, Curtis (Corliss) Williams Jr., Malisa (Greg) Harris of Valdosta, Georgia and Shawanda (Keenan) Sarpy of Powder Springs, Georgia. A very special grandson Darren Davis of Las Vegas, Nevada, that he shared a part in raising.
Sisters, Thelma Russi of Great Bend, Kansas and Ernestine McCullough of Pine Bluff Arkansas; Sister-in-law Ella Mae Carter of Lithonia, Georgia; Brother-in-laws, John Franklin Sr. of Hahira, Georgia and Curtis Thomas of Valdosta, Georgia. Cagie sacred his life with 18 Bonus Grandchildren and 33 Bonus Great Grands. A host of nieces, nephews and friends.
For this is a journey that we all must take, and each must go alone. It's all a part of the master's plan, A step on the road to home.
Mr. "C.W." life will be celebrated on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at 2:00 PM from the Crossing Jordan Baptist Church - 1401 Cypress Street, Valdosta Georgia. Burial will follow in the Pallbearers Cemetery.
