In Loving and Honored Memory of: Mr. George Samuel Spencer
With profound respect and tender reverence, we announce the earthly transition of Mr. George Samuel Spencer of Valdosta, Georgia. Born on Monday, May 7, 1945, he answered his final call from labor to reward on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at the blessed age of 80.
Mr. Spencer lived a life of extraordinary purpose. With the hands of a healer and the heart of a servant, he dedicated countless years as a paramedic, faithfully responding to the cries of those in need throughout Valdosta, Lowndes County, Nashville, Lakeland, and across South Georgia. Wherever there was suffering, he brought comfort. Wherever there was fear, he brought calm. Wherever there was need, Mr. George was already on the way. His devotion to saving lives was not just a profession, it was his calling.
He was more than an exceptional caregiver; he was a cherished member of the Harrington Funeral Home, Inc. staff family. His loyalty, kindness, and steady presence enriched our work and our hearts. His absence will be deeply felt, but his legacy will forever remain.
To the family he loved so dearly, and to every life he touched, we offer this one gentle thought to keep close:
“I am with you still — I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow, I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush, I am the swift, uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not think of me as gone, I am with you still, In each new dawn.”
As we honor his remarkable life of service, compassion, and unwavering dedication, Harrington Funeral Home, Inc. stands humbled and grateful to serve the Spencer Family with Excellence, Dignity, and Honor during this sacred time.
Lots of sympathy to Spencer families! George was an EMT extraordinaire! We worked together many years! George was cool, calm & very task oriented! I found it a pleasure to make calls as his partner. Rest peacefully Sir!
Please accept my sympathy on the passing of Mr. George. I loved working with him at SGMC. He had such a humble, quiet, servant spirit about him as he cared for many patients over his years of service. He was the calm in the storm and I know he is resting in the arms of God! Thank you for your service, Mr. George. You were a blessing to me and many others in the medical profession as well! Carolyn Scharton Mays
