Official Notice of Transition: In Loving Memory of Mrs. Beatrice Straughter of Valdosta, Georgia
I’ve moved from my old house to my brand-new home. I’m no longer worried about the cracks and leaks. That old house—my health was fading there. But then Jesus came and laid His healing hands on me and touched my soul until it was made whole. That’s why I stepped out of the old… and into the new.
It is with profound sympathy and compassion that the Harrington Family and Staff extend our heartfelt condolences to the Straughter family, as we announce the heavenly transition of their cherished matriarch:
While the world remembers March 29, 1941, as the day the Battle of Cape Matapan ended in a historic victory, for Heaven, that date marked a far greater celebration: the birth of a beautiful soul. On that day, Mrs. Beatrice Straughter entered this world by God’s divine plan.
And now, by that same divine will, she peacefully departed this earthly life on Friday, April 11, 2025, and stepped into eternal rest. Age: 84 Years, 13 Days old.
A Letter from Heaven: My dear family, please don’t cry for me — I am no longer in pain. The weight of this world has been lifted, and I now walk in peace, surrounded by love, light, and joy unspeakable. My steps are steady, my soul is free, and my voice — oh, it sings now, with the angels in perfect harmony.
Thank you for the love, the care, and the countless prayers. Every moment with you was a gift I held close. But now, I rest in a home not made by hands—a place prepared just for me by our Lord. Until we meet again, keep loving, keep living, and know that I am watching over you with a smile. All my love, Beatrice
CELEBRATION OF LIFE: The Straughter family along with family, friends and well-wishers will gather within the secrete walls of the New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church - 3488 Engberg Avenue, Valdosta, GA. at 3:00 PM on Saturday, April 19, 2025.

A precious soul has departed, a beloved voice is now silent. A space remains that can never be filled. But God, in His infinite wisdom and love, has called her home. Though her body sleeps, her soul rests safely in Heaven.

Auntie is now with Uncle James, Cousin James, my Grandmother Flossie and her Brother Tommie and a host of other family members who went home before her, a reunion I know she looked forward to. May you all find peace and comfort in knowing she is at Rest in the Bosom of the Lord!
My condolences to my dear cousins. I will miss sitting around listening to my mother (Lois) and her talking and laughing and her at the family events with that gorgeous smile. May you all hearts heal a day at a time because it's not easy. I love y'all.
