Dear Friends and Family, if you are reading this legacy, then you know that I have passed from labor to reward before the rapture.
My name is Ethel Mae Dennard I was born Thursday, June 16, 1949 in Cross, South Carolina to the late Fred J. Anderson and the late Dorothy Dorine Anderson.
Growing up as a child, I was always a mother figure to my siblings to assist my mother in raising my siblings after my father passed at an early age.
I attended Central High School in Cross, South Carolina. I later went to Miami in 1963 and furthered my education at Carver High School. While there I joined St John AME Church in South Miami. Later, I married the late Arthur Lee Weatherspoon Jr. in 1968 and relocated to Valdosta, Ga. Together we shared a good life. Into that blessed union was five children, Connie Johnson, Stephanie Williams, Avis Harraway (Dariel), Tanya Weatherspoon, Arthur Weatherspoon III (Zakiyyah).
Seeking Christian fellowship, I joined Greater Pleasant Temple Baptist Church and later moved my membership to Crossing Jordan Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Ronnie Mathis. I served on many ministries including the Mass choir, Culinary Ministry, Kitchen Ministry, Women of Wisdom, and the Shephard Care Ministry.
Although I had five children of my own, I had a heart full of love and touched many lives as I was considered a mother to many in the community. I loved to cook. I worked as a cook for Home 2 Daycare, JL Newbern, Valdosta Middle, Valdosta High School and R & B café.
In 1997, I found love again and married Eddie Dennard who preceded me in death in 2017. As his wife, I became a devoted mother to his two children, Angelina Dennard and Ashley Dennard, and his grandson, Curtis Doe.
As fate would have it, I heard and obeyed the masters call on Sunday, March 01, 2020, God set me FREE by calling me from my earthly home to my brand new home, not made by hands, but eternal in the heavens.
I am free to fly on wind, to catch the breeze, floating where I please. I am free to shine with the sun, to light up the day in my own special way. I am free without my body, to live on in your memory.
Join my Family: My Siblings: Betty Shine (Herb), Dewey Herman Anderson (Donna), Rubystine Anderson, Florene Anderson, (Adopted Sister) Betty Sargent (Waldo), Anthony Ricky Anderson, Timothy Anderson (Deceased); Aunts/Uncles: John Wesley Smalls (Connie), Marion Howard (Anne) Dolly Belle Theirse, Rose Savage, Ida Johnson; Childhood Friend: Margaret Holmes; Best Friend: Ardell Jones; Devoted Friends: Donna Edwards, Claretha Smith, Jean Wright, Dottie Stewart, Geneva Hutcherson, Regina Spencer, Myra Davis, Sanchious Carter, Idella Jones, and Bono Calhoun; Grandchildren: Jocelyn Johnson, Julius Johnson, Dennis Neely, Johniyah Williams, Audri Wooten, Dariel Harraway II, Angel Morris, Markeshia Earthman, Michael Scott, Zakoya Weatherspoon, Malik Patrick, Brandon Weatherspoon, Amarion Weatherspoon, Arthur Weatherspoon IV, Danni Vickers, Kasyn Berrian, Kadyn Berrian, Khamil Murphy, Kayden Moody, Zariya Weatherspoon; Great Grandchildren: Bailee Weatherspoon, Braylen Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowful friends.
