When peace, like a river, attendeth my way, when sorrows like sea billows roll; Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say, it is well, it is well with my soul.
The Almighty God in His perfect wisdom on Thursday, January 2, 2025, called out a name in the halls of eternity. That name was Mrs. Lavonia Henderson, she was born May 15, 1946.
Sister Henderson lived 78 years of life to the absolute fullest! Her earthly journey has ended within the earth realm. A soul anchored in the Lord, a heart full of faith, A life lived with purpose, a legacy to amaze. With every breath, she whispered 'it is well', Her trust in God, her guiding light, her story to tell.
I heard a voice from heaven saying, 'Write, Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.' 'Yes,' says the Spirit, 'they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them. - Revelation 14:13

Lavonia (Sister) has been a part of our life since we were little boys. Her mother, Queen Fluitt, was a second mother to us and we grew up with her children. She was an extremely nice and thoughtful person and a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed, but she is now at home with the Lord. Our prayers are with the family and especially Leon. Richard and Bill Cowart

Mrs Henderson was my daughter Caty's aide for many years at SL Mason. She loved, cared for, defended, and taught my baby to shine like no other. Sending the family so much love and gratitude for sharing Mrs Henderson with us.
I called but you were not there. I asked the nurse, "Is there more than one Hospice in Valdosta?"" She said no but I will transfer you to the other end. An employee answered the phone stating that she would have you call me back. I gave her my number, but I never received a call. You missed my call but answered your Heavenly Father call. My call was to talk to you but Gods call was come unto me and I will give you eternal rest. Sister, you answered the call that will take away your pain and suffering. You will have rest and peace everlasting. It's over now. Hallelujah! It has been a blessing knowing a God fearing woman, devoted wife and Mother. To Leon, the children and grandchildren. Be grateful that you had a devoted wife, Mother Grandmother etc. I know this because she was my Sister-in-law. RIP Jeanette Henderson
