Official Notice of Earthly Transition: Mrs. Martha Ann Locklear of Lakeland Georgia. (70)
Birth - Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart. Jeremiah 1:5
In His Divine Providence no sweeter spirit could the Good Lord have formed and commanded a
precious child be brought forth into the arms of parents and family: It was Sunday, August 12, 1956, that Martha was born.
A Full-filled Life - You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. - Psalm 16:11
Deaconess Martha Locklear was A quiet spirt, one who loved the God, cherished family, and supported the work of the church. She was a meek, mild-mannered spirit, and epitomized the highest essence of a lady embodying a calm spirit of compassion, patience, and kindness. She eld a quiet, steadfast consistency in doing things her way. To put it simply, she was just plain sweet.
HER DEPARTURE — WHEN HER SHIP CAME SAILING IN:
On Friday, October 23, 2026, Deaconess Martha Ann Locklear came to the end of her earthly journey. With her appointed days fulfilled, she stood at the banks of Jordan, where the cares of this world gave way to the promise of eternal peace. And as the beloved message of gospel music reminds us, there comes a time when every weary traveler longs to see their ship come sailing in.
For Martha, the crossing was not a farewell without hope, but a homegoing embraced by the promises of God. The waters of Jordan represent that sacred passage from earthly labor to heavenly rest, from the temporary troubles of this world to the everlasting peace of the Father's house. The same God who had guided her steps through seventy years of life now held her in His eternal keeping.
And so, while her family and loved ones mourn the absence of her gentle presence, they may find comfort in the assurance that a life lived in faith is never forgotten in the sight of God. The journey has ended, the earthly burdens have been laid down, and the quiet, sweet spirit of Deaconess Martha Ann Locklear has taken its place among the memories that time cannot erase.
Her ship has reached the shore, her earthly voyage is complete, and her legacy of faith, kindness, and sweetness shall forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
